Israeli notary fees are fixed by the Notaries Regulations (Service Fees), 5739-1978, so every notary in Israel charges the same amount for the same act. As published for 2026 in the Ministry of Justice notice(opens in a new tab), a first signature costs NIS 197, a certified copy NIS 77 for the first page, and a certified translation of up to 100 words NIS 251, plus VAT. The apostille fee is separate and is paid to the court.
Who sets the fee
Under regulation 1, a notary charges the amount in the fee table plus a sum equal to VAT. Under regulation 4, the amounts are updated every 1 January in line with the consumer price index and published in Reshumot (regulations(opens in a new tab), Hebrew). The 2026 notice was published on 29 December 2025 and applies from 1 January 2026 (Ministry of Justice(opens in a new tab), Hebrew). Charging more than the set fee, or less without sufficient reason, is a disciplinary offence (Notaries Law, s. 34(5)(opens in a new tab)). The fee charged is stated at the end of every notarial certificate (Notaries Regulations, reg. 17(opens in a new tab)).

Powers of attorney, languages and translations
The table has no separate item for a power of attorney. The notary authenticates the signature on it, so the signature fee applies. A notarial certificate is drawn up in Hebrew or Arabic and, for use abroad, may on request also be in English or another language (reg. 9). A certificate in a foreign language other than Arabic or English, such as Russian, adds NIS 104.
Translation fees follow the number of words in the translation, and part of a hundred counts as a full hundred. For 350 words, the table gives NIS 251 for the first 100 words plus NIS 197 for each of the next three hundreds: NIS 842 before VAT.
Evenings, rest days and visits
Between 19:00 and 08:00, or on rest days, 50% is added to the fee for the act, except for an act within item 9 of the regulation (service outside the office). The out-of-office charge applies when the client expressly asks for service elsewhere. It runs from the notary's departure until return and comes on top of the fee for the acts and travel expenses.
When a notary may waive the fee
Under regulation 1a (unofficial translation), a notary "may decline to charge a fee, in whole or in part" where: (1) the notary is satisfied that the applicant lacks means, among other things on the basis of a document the applicant provided; (2) the service is given to a new immigrant or returning resident who provided confirmation from the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, a new immigrant being someone for whom seven years have not yet passed since receiving an immigrant certificate under the Law of Return, or an immigrant citizen's or returning minor's certificate; or (3) the service was needed because of the notary's own error. This is the notary's discretion, not the applicant's right.
The apostille fee is separate
Court secretariats issue apostilles for notarial documents. According to the Judicial Authority page(opens in a new tab), from 1 January 2026 the fee is NIS 41 per apostille, and no court fee is charged for a certificate issued for countries outside the Hague Convention. Payment is by credit card at the court secretariat, in cash at a post office with a voucher, or online.
